Malaysian contemporary short stories
This learning sequence explores four contemporary short stories written by Malaysian writers. Long Journey This interactive is an online interactive documentary from ABC New Media about refugees. Students are invited to 'share' in the experiences of 7 refugee children from different countries whose stories (in interview format). The interviews /stories are structured by the stages of the refugee background children's experiences: Homeland, Conflict, Journey, Detention and Reflection. Global Trends This interactive shows the data collected when the UNHCR counts and tracks the numbers of refugees, internally displaced people, people who have returned to their countries or areas of origin, asylum-seekers, stateless people and other populations of concern to UNHCR.
