Our new shelving was another opportunity to change the layout of the library to meet the emerging needs of the school community. We have incorporated study areas, a reading area and a class multipurpose area.
The feedback from staff and students has been very positive. Also positive is the increase in student browsing in the fiction area.

An offer of shelving from another school was an ideal opportunity for us to investigate the ways moving the fiction collection might increase student borrowing and change the use of the library space. A couch and chair was found unused in the school, and we were able to create a reading area. Feedback from students was swift and very positive. Students went out of their way to speak to Library staff about their enjoyment of the new space. There has already been greater use of the magazines and fiction.
